So there has been a little book making the rounds on the Outdoor blogs and Twitter feeds about a man discovering the mountains by "following" his dog on the trails in New Hampshire. I am a big fan of dogs and mountains so I checked out the trailer (who has a trailer for books? what a world) and it looks like such the neat concept:
Of course the vistas in the trailer you don't get in the book but I am a sucker for these outdoor type of books. Much like Bill Bryson's "Walk In The Woods" or Shackelton's "South", I really respond to first person narratives about getting out and about and this book seems right up my alley.
I have yet to read the book but I hope to soon. If you want to read this bad boy, they are giving away free copies of the book on the blog with the great name "Live Free And Hike".

Oh, yay. This book sounds right up my alley. Hubby and I are both big time hikers and dog lovers -- and our adorable 2 year old Beagles can out-hike us any day. Putting this on my Amazon wish list now!
